Pure Emu Oil
The 100% pure Emu Oil that we offer here at Natures Works, Inc. is just that, pure. It is 99.99% Emu Oil and +/- .01% Vitamin E. We do not add any fragrances or colors. Such additions could, in our opinion, cause anything from a slightly displeasing odor to decreased shelf life and the potential promotion of bacterial growth.

The Emu is a virtual warehouse of products. Eggs are gathered along the way for eating, craving, etching and painting. Once processed for the low-fat red meat, you also have the hide for leather fashion accessories, the feathers for arts, crafts and accents, the toenails for jewelry, and most importantly the fat. History
In September of 1994 we began raising emu. What we “soon” learned was that it wouldn’t be so simple as just taking the birds to our local livestock auction and selling them. By the time our emu were old enough to reproduce and we had birds of our own to sell, the market had already begun to take a downturn and we were guaranteed to take a severe loss on our investment should we try and sell our alternative livestock.

At this point we were not prepared to tap the un-tapped value-added Emu by-product market. Soon many breeders began getting out of the business (and we were sure they were laughing all the way to the bank at folks like us). We were just getting started and it looked like the race was already run. But we couldn’t give up and a small group of ND emu producers pressed on, each in their own direction.

In addition to our own private label Emu Oil, we also carry several name brand Emu Oil based skin care product lines and a variety of North Dakota made products. As ‘Pride of Dakota’ members we have been afforded many opportunities to showcase our Emu Oil. In the busy hustle and bustle of today’s world, it’s nice to see and participate in the hometown / local markets. Everyone should have the opportunity, at least once in a lifetime, to spend a day in the life of a ND farmer – it’s priceless!

While conducting our own research we tried every brand of American Emu Oil we could get our hands on. We compared the oils based on many things such as: the type of process used to render and refine the oil, checking for companies using harsh chemical “scrubs”; we compared the color and texture; we checked for odor or lack there of; we tested the different oils on ourselves and our family members; then we left the bottles alone for months performing our own shelf life and separation tests. Finally we settled on what we continue to feel is THE BEST oil refining company in the United States. In the Spring of 1997, after nearly nine months of research, our dream was realized. We were ready to hit the ground running and Natures Works, Inc. was officially open for business.

For six and a half years we worked at this part-time, around our “day jobs” and on weekends, but in the Fall of 2003 an opportunity arose to open a small retail / specialty gift shop here in Minot, ND. Over the past nine years we’ve shipped our Emu Oil to nearly every state in the nation. This isn’t huge by any means, but to us it’s very satisfying.

It’s been a challenging road to travel, learning many valuable lessons along the way. We’ve shed blood sweat and tears and experienced our share of tragedy and triumph thus far. Yet, the most rewarding thing for us is when a customer comes to us and says how wonderful our Emu Oil is, how much it has helped them and how glad they are to have found us! That’s when we know we’ve done our best.
